IEC Contactor Cross Reference — Allen-Bradley 100-C, Telemecanique LC1D, Eaton XTCE, GE CL
IEC contactors are rated on a common standard (IEC 60947-4-1), which makes cross-brand replacement routine — an Allen-Bradley 100-C09, a Schneider LC1D09, an Eaton XTCE009, and a GE CL00 all live in the same 9-amp AC-3 class. Routine, but not automatic: these are functional equivalents, not drop-in supersessions, and the interchange below is organized around the four things that actually determine whether the swap works.
AC-3 amperage and horsepower — match the utilization-category rating, not the thermal amp number printed largest on the label. Coil voltage and burden — each brand encodes coil voltage differently (suffix tables included below), and electronic-coil variants don’t interchange with conventional coils on the control side without checking burden. Auxiliary configuration — brands differ on what’s built in versus added; a replacement that drops a built-in NC auxiliary breaks the control circuit until an add-on block restores it. Footprint and overload mounting — overload relays are brand-captive (an AB E1 Plus doesn’t hang on a TeSys body), so a contactor swap usually means an overload swap, and DIN-rail versus panel dimensions vary a few millimeters that matter in a tight enclosure.
The master table runs size-by-size from 9A through the 95A class across all four brands, with coil-code and auxiliary tables per brand underneath. Use it to identify the candidate — then verify the four points above against your panel, or send us the existing part number and control voltage and we’ll return the verified equivalent with the matching overload.
All four lines are in our sourcing network, current and obsolete generations both, so you can standardize on one brand or match what’s in the panel — whichever your plant prefers.

1. The Reality of IEC Functional Equivalents
Unlike manufacturer-issued supersessions, crossing between major brands (Allen-Bradley, Schneider, Eaton, GE/ABB) requires matching the engineering specifications manually. Because this is a TCI-assembled multi-brand table based on aggregated catalog data, every cross-brand substitution should pass a full Application Engineering (AE) verification gate before being placed in a critical control panel to ensure footprint, auxiliary, and coil burden compatibility.

3. Coil Voltage Suffix Codes by Manufacturer
To complete a contactor cross-reference, append the correct coil voltage code to the base frame. Note that wide-range electronic coils (found on modern XT and TeSys lines) may require different inrush current than conventional legacy coils.
| Brand | 24V DC | 120V AC | 240V AC | 480V AC |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Allen-Bradley (100-C) | ZJ | D | A | B |
| Schneider (LC1D) | BD | G7 | U7 | T7 |
| Eaton (XTCE) | TD | A | B | C |
| GE / ABB (CL) | MD | J | N | U |
4. Standard Auxiliary Contact Configurations
| Brand | Standard Built-In Auxiliaries (Base Models) | Replacement Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Allen-Bradley (100-C) | 1 NO (e.g., 100-C09*10) | If replacing a Schneider with an AB, a front-mount auxiliary block (100-FA) is required to replicate the NC contact. |
| Schneider (LC1D) | 1 NO + 1 NC | Comes standard with dual auxiliaries across the entire D-Line. |
| Eaton (XTCE) | 1 NO (up to XTCE032C) | Use XTCEXFAC auxiliary blocks if moving from a Schneider LC1D. |
| GE / ABB (CL) | 1 NO (Standard) | Side and front mount auxiliary add-ons widely available. |
5. Direct-Mount Overload Relay Pairing Guide
Overload relays mount directly to the bottom load terminals of their respective contactor brands. You cannot cross-mount overloads between brands. If changing the contactor manufacturer, you must also order the matching overload relay for the new contactor.
| Contactor Brand | Bimetallic Thermal Overload Family | Solid-State Electronic Overload Family |
|---|---|---|
| Allen-Bradley | 193-T Series | 193-E Series (E1 Plus / E100) |
| Schneider / Telemecanique | LRD Series | LR9D Series |
| Eaton | XTOB Series | XTOE Series |
| GE / ABB | RT Series | RE Series |
