Honeywell Modutrol Motors FAQ

How do Honeywell Industrial Modutrol Motors handle high-demand operations?

Honeywell Modutrol Motors, such as the M7284 and M9185 models, are built for high-demand operations, offering reliable modulating control for dampers and valves. With torque ratings up to 150 lb-in, they can maintain performance even under heavy loads. These motors are also available with spring-return options for added security during power interruptions.

Can Honeywell Industrial Modutrol Motors be integrated with existing automation systems?

Yes, Honeywell Modutrol Motors are designed for seamless integration with existing automation systems. The motors are compatible with a range of control signals, including 4-20 mA and 2-10 Vdc, making them suitable for various HVAC control applications. Models like the M6284F1013-S provide precise modulation, ensuring they work efficiently with modern automated systems

Are there energy-efficient models available for Honeywell Industrial Modutrol Motors?

Honeywell offers energy-efficient models, particularly in the Series 72 and Series 90 lines. These motors are designed to consume minimal energy while providing precise control. Their proportional control mechanism ensures that energy is used only when needed, contributing to overall system efficiency.

What is the typical lifespan or expected durability of a Honeywell Modutrol Motor?

Honeywell Modutrol Motors are known for their robust construction and long lifespan. With features like die-cast aluminum housings and weather-protected designs, these motors can withstand harsh environments, including temperature extremes ranging from -40°F to 150°F. With proper maintenance, these motors are expected to last several years in industrial settings

How do Honeywell Modutrol Motors compare to other actuator motors in the market?

Honeywell Modutrol Motors are known for their reliability, ease of installation, and versatile application options. Their ability to handle both proportional and floating control signals gives them an edge over many competitors, especially for HVAC and industrial automation needs. Furthermore, the availability of both spring-return and non-spring-return models adds operational flexibility

What are the available torque and speed options for Honeywell Modutrol Motors?

The available torque for Honeywell Modutrol Motors, such as the M7284 series, typically ranges from 150 lb-in, with stroke adjustability between 90° to 160°. Motor timing can vary from 30 to 60 seconds depending on the application, providing the precision needed for different control environments

The Honeywell Modutrol IV Actuator Motors rotary motors can be set to fail safe mode to Non-Spring Return (NSR) or Spring Return, Two Position.

Application:

The Series 72 Modutrol IV Motors are used to control dampers and valves. The motors accept a current or voltage signal from an electronic controller to position a damper or valve at any point between open and closed. All models have auxiliary switch cams.

The Series 41 and Series 81 Modutrol IV Motors are 2-position (line- and low- voltage, respectively) spring-return motors. They are used to operate dampers or valves in applications where it is necessary or desirable to have the controlled element return to the starting position in the event of power failure or interruption.

Series 90 Control Circuit – 135 ohm, Series 90 proportioning controller. Series 90 high or low limit controller with manual minimum position potentiometer (with a combined total resistance of up to 500 ohms) can also be used in the control circuit. These Modutrol Motors are reversing, proportional motors used to operate valves or dampers in electric (Series 90) modulating circuits.
