The Allen Bradley 1783 Small Form-factor Pluggable Transceiver Modules serve as integral components within the E300/E200 Electronic Overload Relays. Communication modules available for these relays include EtherNet/IP and DeviceNet.
The EtherNet/IP module features two RJ45 ports supporting star, linear, and ring topologies. It facilitates concurrent Class 1 connections, simultaneous Class 3 connections for explicit messaging, an embedded web server, SMTP server for trip and warning events, and an embedded EDS file. Additionally, it allows configuration parameter read and write operations, along with real-time information retrieval at different rates. This module provides robust communication capabilities suitable for various industrial applications.
While the module includes standard copper ports, the SFP slots provide the flexibility to use fiber optic connections for enhanced performance. This is particularly advantageous in electrically noisy industrial environments, as fiber optics offer complete immunity to electromagnetic interference. Furthermore, fiber optic SFPs enable communication over much greater distances than standard Ethernet cabling can support. The Parameter Configuration Module (PCM) features a Type B USB interface port and configurable with Connected Components Workbench software. It provides three rotary dials to set Full Load Amps (FLA) and an 8-position DIP switch for trip class and feature selection. This module is designed for stand-alone non-networked applications, offering flexibility in configuring the relays based on specific requirements.
Expansion digital I/O and analog I/O modules enable additional inputs and outputs to be added to the E300/E200 relay expansion bus. The expansion digital I/O modules support 4 inputs/2 relay outputs and can operate at different voltage levels, including 24V DC, 120V AC, and 240V AC. The expansion analog I/O modules facilitate the monitoring of analog-based sensors, such as resistance temperature detectors, providing universal analog inputs and outputs for various voltage and current ranges.
