The 1769-NGA8 is one of Allen-Bradley’s CompactLogix Controllers. It gives the user precise and convenient communication, control, and I/O elements together in one machine. For additional convenience, multiple controllers can connect to a single chassis or connect across a network. The 1769-NGA8 supports HMI devices, remote I/O modules, and EtherNet, ControlNet, and DH-485 links.
Be aware that this sophisticated equipment is sensitive to ESD or electrostatic discharge. To prevent damage, use grounding devices and avoid touching connectors, pins, and circuit components during installation, operation, and maintenance. In addition, keep the 1769-NGA8 away from sources of UV radiation when possible.
The 1769-NGA8 uses lithium batteries for additional memory support. Lithium batteries are not rechargeable. When the 1769-NGA8’s battery is low, the battery status (BAT) indicator will glow. As long as the indicator light is on, the battery will retain its memory (for up to 25 days if the 1769-NGA8 remains at a temperature of 77 degrees Fahrenheit.) Lithium batteries are recyclable and should not be disposed of with general municipal waste because of their corrosive components. Note that the 1769-NGA8 can only use 1769-BA lithium batteries.
