The Allen Bradley 1756-SYNCH is a ControlLogix SynchLink Communication Module. It features data broadcasting and time synchronization for better-coordinated drive control and motion distribution. The 1756-SYNCH establishes communication between a ControlLogix chassis and a SynchLink fiber-optic cable. It features a high-speed data transfer between different chassis and it helps coordinate the system time of multiple ControlLogix chassis. It allows motion axis data to be consumed between various controllers in different chassis.
The 1756-SYNCH module has a 5-Mbp SynchLink data rate and 650 nm (red) operating wavelength. It provides synchronous communication with a frame speed of 50 μs. It uses 3 bytes for the 3 flags, 1 byte for the control field, 24 bytes for the data field, and 2 bytes for the CRC field as frame parameters. The 1756-SYNCH draws a current of 1200 mA at 5.1V DC and of 3 mA at 24V DC. It has 6.2 W Power dissipation and 21.2 BTU/hr. Thermal dissipation. It can be installed in any slot on a ControlLogix chassis with an open enclosure. The 1756-SYNCH has 2 fiber-optic cable ports with the cable length ranging from 1 – 300 m. It uses 200-230-micron HCS (Hard-Clad Silica) cable with a Versalink V-System fiber termination. The 1756-SYNCH can use both standard and redundant power supplies.
The 1403-CFxxx fiber-optic cable assembly and the 200 μm HCP-M0200T V01RK simplex cable can be used as additional accessories in the 1756-SYNCH module for enhanced performance. It is intended for use in a clean and dry industrial environment with a 0 – 60 °C operating temperature and a 30g operating shock.
