The Allen Bradley 1756-RMXT works in pairs (one 1756-RMXT module in each chassis) in controlling the operating states and state transitions –the building blocks of the redundancy operations framework in a redundant system. It features redundant fiber ports for cross-loading; offering no single point of failure of a fiber cable. In a redundant controller system, this module can support as many as 7 enhanced communication modules of any type or combination in each chassis. The 1756-RMXT is part of the ControlLogix Redundancy Module Series that supports one or two Bulletin 1756-L6 or 1756-L7 Controllers.
Rated for use in extreme environments, the ControlLogix-XT 1756-RMXT Redundancy Module is built with a rugged construction that withstands harsh conditions. The operating temperature ranges between -25 and 70 °C (-13 and 158 °F). The 1756-RMXT uses the Bulletin 1756-RM redundancy connector cables that come in 1, 3, and 10-meter lengths and has a transmission rate of less than or equal to 100 Mbps. The system will experience the best scan performance when this module is used with 1756-L7x controllers in both chassis.
When using the 1756-RMXT, the use of the Redundant Module Configuration Tool (RMCT) to commission the redundant system is recommended.
