The Allen Bradley 1756-OA8E is a ControlLogix discrete output module. This module comes with Eight (8) output channels that delivers a nominal output voltage of 120 VAC with operating range of 74-132 VAC, 47-63 Hz. This module has Two (2) output groups of Four (4) channels each with output current of 2 A @ 60 degrees C (140 degrees F) and output current per group of 2 A @ 60 degrees C (140 degrees F); 4 A @ 30 degrees C (86 degrees F) / 2 A @ 60 degrees C (140 degrees F) with linear derating and output current per module of 8 A @ 30 degrees C (86 degrees F) / 4 A @ 60 degrees C (140 degrees F) with linear derating.

The 1756-OA8E has an output delay time of 9.3 ms @ 60 Hz or 11 ms @ 50 Hz for Off to On and On to Off output transitions. This module may be installed to any available slot of the 1756 chassis with a current draw of 200 mA @ 5.1 VDC and 250 mA @ 24 VDC and total backplane power requirement of 7.02 Watts. It has a maximum power dissipation of 5.5 Watts @ degrees C (140 degrees F) and Thermal dissipation of 18.76 BTU/hr.

There is no limit to the number of instances of the 1756-OA8E. Instances of this module may be installed to any available slots of the 1756 chassis. It is also provided with individual channel protection as each channel of the module comes with electronic fusing. For connection or signal wires, the 1756-OA8E require use of 1756-TBNH or 1756-TBSH Removable Terminal Block (RTB).

The 1756-OA8E ControlLogix 120V AC Output Digital Module by Allen Bradley is a digital output module installed in any slot on the ControlLogix chassis and it has 8 electronically-fused 120V AC outputs. It comes with an output voltage range of 74-132V AC at 47-63 Hz and an output linger time of 9.3ms at 60 Hertz and 11ms at 50 Hertz for ON/OFF and OFF/ON. The 1756-OA8E has a 200mA backplane draw current at 5.1V and 250mA at 24V and a total backplane power rating of 7.02 Watt. It has a power dissipation of 5.5 Watt and 18.76 BTU/hr thermal dissipation. The 1756-OA8E’s maximum OFF state leakage current is at 3mA per point and the voltage lost in its circuit peaks at 4V in the ON state.

The 1756-OA8E has a maximum current of 2A on each output point, and the gross current on the module’s outputs is 8A at 30 deg. C. The minimum load on each point is 10mA, and the circuit has a current surge of 20A for 43ms per point recurring every 2s. The 1756-OA8E’s isolation voltage is 125V adopting basic insulation type tested at 1200V AC for 2 seconds between outputs-to-backplane and output group-to-group. It is CE and UL-certified for industrial purpose and it is designated at the T4 temperature code and comes in an open-style enclosure. The 1756-OA8E’s optimal temperature ranges between 0 and 60 Celsius at 5-95% non-condensing relative humidity condition and it is stored and shipped at a temperature range between -40 and 85 deg. C.
