The 1756-OA8D ControlLogix Output Module by Allen Bradley is an 8-point output ControlLogix Diagnostic module mounted on any slot of the 1756 ControlLogix Chassis. Like most modules in the series, it has back-plane ratings of 175mA at 5.1V DC and 250mA at 24V DC, with a gross backplane rating of 6.9W. Its output voltage ranges between 74 and 132V AC at 47-63Hz and it has a maximum ON/OFF and OFF/ON delay time of 9.3ms at 50Hz and one of 11ms at 50Hz. The 1756-OA8D has a draw current of 175mA at 5.1V and 250mA at 24V and a power dissipation of 53W and a thermal dissipation of 18.0 BTU/hr. In its OFF state, it has a leakage current of 3mA per point and a maximum drop voltage of 3.0V at 1.0A.
The current rating on each output point is 1A at 30 0C which linearly de-rates at a temperature higher than this and the net current on the overall module is 8A also at 30 0C and it will also linearly de-rate at any higher temperature value. The 1756-OA8D module has a maximum surge current of 8A for 43ms per point, recurring every 2s at 30 °C, and the minimum load on each output point is 10mA. It has an isolation voltage of 125V (Continuous) with basic (insulation Type) tested at 1200V AC for 2s between output group-to-group and outputs-to-backplane but there is no isolation between individual group outputs. The 1756-OA8D has a single slot width and the keying on the Removable Terminal Block (RTB) is at the user’s discretion. It is designated the T4A code, and has an optimal temperature range of 0-60 °C (32-140 °F), at 5-95% non-condensing relative humidity, and is enclosed in an open-style rated enclosure. It weighs approximately 1Kg (2.25lb).
