The Allen Bradley 1756-L63XT is a ControlLogix controller that has been made to withstand extreme temperatures. This controller is also known as an extreme environment ControlLogix controller, as it has an operating temperature than is higher than most controllers. The 1756-L63XT’s operating temperature ranges from -25 to 70 Degrees Celsius, while its storage temperature is from -40 to 85 Degrees Celsius. It also has a maximum surrounding air temperature of 70 Degrees Celsius.
However, the surrounding air temperature range lessens a bit when you use the 1756-A7LXT chassis even with the 1756-L63XT controller; the range becomes -25 to 60 Degrees Celsius, which is ten Degrees Celsius lower. But when the controller is used with the FLEX I/O-XT products, it can withstand -20 to 70 Degrees Celsius, 5 Degrees Celsius colder than when it is used by itself.
This controller has a user memory of 8 MB and an I/O memory of 478 kb available for your use. You can also use an optional nonvolatile memory for it, although you can only use the 64 MB (1784-CF64) or 128 MB CompactFlash memory cards (the 1784-CF128). It also has a 1 port RS-132 serial built-in communication port. The ControlLogix chassis compatible with this controller are 1756-A4LXT, 1756-A5XT, 1756-A7LXT, and the 1756-A7XT.
The 1756-L63XT has a maximum digital I/O and total I/O of 128,000 each and a maximum analog I/O of 4000. It has three controller tasks, namely event tasks: all event triggers, 32 tasks, and 100 programs per task. It can support a maximum of 250 controller connections, as well as controller redundancy for the same controllers that belong to the same ControlNet network. Communication options available for the 1756-L63XT controller are ControlNet, DeviceNet, Remote I/O, SynchLink, EtherNet/IP, Data Highway Plus, and third-party process and device networks. Serial port communications are also available for this controller, namely DF1 radio modem, DF1 full/half-duplex, ASCII, Modbus via logic, and ASCII.
The current draw of this controller is 1200 mA at 5.1V DC and 14 mA at 24V DC. It also has a power dissipation of 3.5 W and a thermal dissipation of 11.9 BTU/hr. Its continuous isolation voltage is 30V and it has been type tested at 720V DC for 60 s. It also has a relative humidity of 5% to 95% (noncondensing). The 1756-L63XT has a vibration of 2 g at 10 to 500 Hz, an operating shock of 30 g, and a non-operating shock of 50 g.
