The 1756-IA16IK input module is a ControlLogix 120 Volts AC rated isolated input module that is designed and manufactured by Allen Bradley. This module is one of the most efficient modules because it takes up very little space on 1 digital input.
Further advantages of this module with 16 isolated digital inputs are its ability to be replaced without disturbing the wiring to the sensors around it, as well as the ability to work in environments with high humidity and temperature levels, as well as with dangerous gases. The 1756-IA16IK input module has 16 status indicators to show which input is active. The inputs are triggered with an outside generated voltage that can be between 79 and 132 Volts AC (at 47 to 63 Hertz). The cyclic update time for this module is always less than 750 milliseconds but it can be 1000 times less. It provides input-to-input and input-to-backplane 125 Volts AC isolation voltage.
It is fitted to 1 of 2 types of terminal base units which are the 1756-TBCH or the 1756-TBS6H terminal base unit. The declared time delays for this module are 10 milliseconds plus the filtering time that users can set to be 1 or 2 milliseconds for the OFF to ON transitioning process and 8 milliseconds plus the filtering time that users can set to be 9 or 18 milliseconds for ON to OFF transitioning process. The 1756-IA16IK input module consumes 0.71 Watts of backplane power, and it is designed to operate at temperatures between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius. The product is CSA, UL, CE, and EAC certified.
