The Allen Bradley 1756-CNBRK is a conformal-coated interface module and redundant media device for real-time, high-throughput applications on the open ControlNet network.
It uses CIP or Common Industrial Protocol to combine the functionality of an I/O network and a peer-to-peer network, providing high performance for both functions. It is part of the 1756 ControlLogix ControlNet Communication Modules series and is selected when network applications require 40-48 ControlNet connections per communication module.
The 1756-CNBRK ControlNet Interface is redundant-configured with a communication rate of 5 Mbps. It has a maximum of 99 nodes and 64 supported connections. It has current draws of 970 mA at 5.1V DC and 1.7 mA at 24V DC with a power dissipation of 5.1 W and thermal dissipation of 17.4 BTU/hr. Its isolation voltage is 30V (continuous) with a basic insulation type on ControlNet A/B-to-backplane and ControlNet A-to-ControlNet B as well as USB-to-backplane and USB-to-ControlNet.
The 1756-CNBRK Module can occupy any chassis-based slot. If installing a redundant system place the primary and redundant modules in the same slot in their respective chassis pair. This communication interface features two ControlNet BNC ports and one NAP RJ45 port. It is compatible with the 1756-A4, 1756-A7, 1756-A10, 1756-A13, and the 1756-A17 ControlLogix Chassis. It can be used with standard or redundant power supplies.
