The Allen-Bradley 1756-AMXN module allows an Allen-Bradley ControlLogix backplane to communicate with the Automax Remote I/O network or with the AutoMax DCS network. The 1756-AMXN ControlLogix module can act as a Remote I/O master module, a DCS slave module, or as a DCS master module.
When configured as a DCS master module, the 1756-AMXN module scans a maximum of 55 slave units, and it can transmit 8 words of broadcast data. It also supports a maximum of 8 scheduled connections with the ControlLogix processor and it supports independent connections for broadcast data. When configured as a DCS slave module, the 1756-AMXN module receives 8 broadcast words from the master unit and it supports a maximum of 8 connections with the ControlLogix processor. When configured as a Remote I/O master module, the 1756-AMXN module scans up to 7 drops and it supports up to 28 words of output data and 250 words of input data.
The 1756-AMXN module can be installed in any slot of a ControlLogix chassis. The processor on the 1756-AMXN module is an IDT MIPS processor rated at 100 MHz and the module has 1 MB of flash memory, 1 MB of local RAM, and 512 KB of shared RAM. The peak backplane current draw is 650 milliamps at 5.1 Volts DC and it is 75 milliamps at 24 Volts DC. The maximum power dissipation of the module is 5 Watts. The operating and storage temperature ranges for the 1756-AMXN module are 0 to 60 degrees Celsius and -40 to 85 degrees Celsius, respectively. The operating and non-operating shock ratings for the 1756-AMXN module are 30 G and 50 G, respectively. The vibration rating for the 1756-AMXN module is 2 G at 10 to 150 Hertz.
