Tighten the nut on the protective soil ground for a torque of 16.27 N•m (12 lb•in). Connect the grounding conductors (functional and protective soil ground) from each chassis to the bolts on the ground bus. Use the ground electrode conductor for connecting the ground bus to the grounding electrode system. At a minimum, use solid or stranded 8.3 mm2 (8 AWG) copper wire rated at 90 °C (194 °F) or larger for ground electrode conductors to prevent EMI. The National Electrical Code determines the safety requirements for grounding electrode conductors.
