The Allen-Bradley 1756-A5XT 5-slot ControlLogix-XT chassis is the backbone of an industrial ControlLogix system. The 1756-A5XT 5-slot chassis is designed only for horizontal back-panel mounting, but any module can be placed into any slot for flexible mounting.
The chassis backplane provides a high-speed communication path between the ControlLogix modules installed in the chassis. The 1756-A5XT chassis is conformally coated and it can be used in ISA G3 rated environments. The operating temperature range for the 1756-A5XT chassis is from -25 to 70 degrees Celsius. The non-operating temperature range is from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity (non-condensing) around the installed chassis should be between 5 and 95%. The operational vibration rating for the chassis is 2 G at 10 to 500 Hertz.
The operating shock rating for the 1756-A5XT chassis is 30 G and the non-operating shock rating for the chassis is 50 G. The maximum backplane current per slot at 1.2 Volts DC is 1.5 Amps. The maximum backplane current per slot at 3.3 Volts DC is 4 Amps. The maximum backplane current per slot at 5.1 Volts DC is 10 Amps or 6 Amps. The maximum backplane current per slot at 24 Volts DC is 2 Amps. The peak power dissipation is 4.4 Watts. The dimensions of the 1756-A5XT chassis are 20 x 30 x 8 inches. The approximate weight of the chassis is 3.2 pounds. For functional earth, the recommended wire size is 8 AWG solid or stranded copper wire rated at 90 degrees Celsius or greater. The 1756-A5XT chassis complies with the T5 North American temperature code.
