The Red Lion CSPID Series comprises advanced PID control modules designed for seamless integration within the Modular Controller Series, offering precise single-loop (CSPID1) and dual-loop (CSPID2) process control solutions.
These modules accept a variety of universal inputs, including thermocouples, RTDs, 0-10 V, and 0/4-20 mA signals, ensuring compatibility with diverse industrial sensors.
Equipped with multiple discrete outputs—such as relays, open drain MOSFETs, and triacs—the CSPID modules can execute various time-proportioning or linear control strategies for heating, cooling, or combined heat/cool applications.
The CSPID1 model offers an optional analog output for enhanced control capabilities.
A notable feature of these modules is the on-demand auto-tuning function, which optimizes PID settings to achieve rapid system response with minimal overshoot.
Additionally, each control loop includes seven internal “soft” alarms—comprising process alarms, heater current alarms, and input fault alarms—that can be assigned to trigger specific outputs, enhancing system safety and reliability.
Integration with the Modular Controller Series Master (CSMSTR) is facilitated through a backplane connection, enabling efficient communication with PCs, PLCs, and SCADA systems via serial or Ethernet interfaces.
