The Red Lion CSMSTRV2 is a master module within the Modular Controller Series, designed to integrate and manage up to 16 slave modules for applications such as multi-zone PID control and data acquisition.
It provides power and communication to connected modules via a proprietary high-speed serial backplane connection, automatically identifying and addressing each module upon startup. This feature allows the CSMSTRV2 to store configuration information and automatically reprogram replaced modules, ensuring seamless integration and maintenance.
The CSMSTRV2 offers multiple communication interfaces, including two RS-232 ports, one RS-422/485 port, and a 10 Base-T/100 Base-TX Ethernet port, facilitating connectivity with PCs, PLCs, and SCADA systems. An extensive built-in driver list enables easy data mapping to various devices, enhancing system integration capabilities.
Configured using Red Lion’s Crimson® software, the CSMSTRV2 supports both Crimson 2.0 and Crimson 3.0 versions, providing a user-friendly graphical interface for communication setup, commissioning, and calibration.
Designed for DIN rail mounting, the CSMSTRV2 operates on a 24 VDC ±10% power supply, with a minimum current requirement of 400 mA for a single module and up to 3.5 Amps when supporting 16 modules. It is suitable for use in Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, and D hazardous locations, adhering to safety standards such as IEC 61010-1 and EN 61010-1.
