The Red Lion CSMSTRSX and CSMSTRGT are enhanced modular controller series masters designed to provide advanced features for data acquisition and multi-zone PID control applications. These controllers serve as the central processing units within the Modular Controller Series, managing communication and control for up to 16 connected slave modules via a high-speed proprietary backplane connection. This setup not only facilitates efficient data exchange but also supplies power to the connected modules.
Both models are equipped with a 10 Base-T/100 Base-TX Ethernet port, enabling seamless networking capabilities. They feature a built-in web server that provides worldwide access to data logs and a virtual HMI, offering PC-based SCADA functionality for remote monitoring and control. The virtual HMI supports up to QVGA (320 x 240) resolution in the CSMSTRSX and up to VGA (640 x 480) resolution in the CSMSTRGT, allowing for detailed graphical representations of processes.
For data logging purposes, both models include a CompactFlash® slot, enabling the storage of process data directly to CSV files for easy retrieval and analysis. They also support protocol conversion, capable of handling up to 15 protocols simultaneously, which allows for integration with a wide range of PLCs, PCs, and SCADA systems. The extensive built-in driver list simplifies data mapping across different devices.
In terms of connectivity, the controllers offer two RS-232 serial ports and one RS-422/485 serial port, providing versatile integration methods for various industrial equipment. They are programmed using Red Lion’s Crimson 2.0 software, a user-friendly graphical interface that streamlines the configuration process. The design emphasizes high-density packaging with DIN rail mounting, saving both time and panel space during installation.
These controllers are UL listed for use in hazardous locations, specifically Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, and D, ensuring they meet stringent safety standards for industrial environments.
