The MAXON 50002 is a 2-inch, normally-closed, electro-mechanical shut-off valve designed for rapid and reliable isolation of gas or oil lines in industrial applications. It operates with a powerful closing spring, ensuring closure in less than one second, which enhances safety in critical processes.
This valve features a cast iron body with metal-to-metal seating, providing durability and longevity even under demanding conditions. It is suitable for line pressures up to 125 PSIG (8.6 bar) and can handle ambient and gas temperatures ranging from -20°F to 140°F (-29°C to 60°C).
The 50002 model is equipped with a visual position indicator, allowing operators to easily verify the valve’s open or closed status. Its unique bonnet design eliminates the need for packing adjustments, reducing maintenance requirements and minimizing drag during closing. Additionally, the actuator assembly is field-rotatable in 90° increments, offering flexibility to fit specific installation requirements.
For enhanced operational safety, the valve can be configured with overtravel position switches that confirm both open and closed positions. It is approved for use in hazardous locations, meeting Non-incendive Class I, Division 2 area classifications. The MAXON 50002 complies with international safety standards, including Factory Mutual (FM), Canadian Standards Association (CSA), Underwriters Laboratories (UL), and Conformité Européenne (CE) certifications.
